Presented to Tom by The Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey
09 September 2022

Good Service is something we are used to seeing at Clarity.

We are nonetheless extremely proud that our very own Tom Allaway was presented The Chief Scout's Commendation for Good Service by The Lieutenant Governor.

"I had many opportunities as a young person, one of the most memorable being an activity camp at the International Scout Centre in Kandersteg, Switzerland" said Tom, speaking about his nearly twenty year long account of his involvement with the Scout movement.

"When I turned 18 I wanted help shape the lives of young people, so I became a Scout Leader.  About a year later I became an Assistant Explorer Scout Leader and have been helping to deliver a programme for 14-18 year olds ever since. I’m on the local Programme Team, which organises the Island Scout events, and was Scout Network Chairperson until I turned 25 in July this year."

The Chief Scout's Commendation for Good Service is awarded in respect of not less than 5 years good service. It should be regarded as The Chief Scout's recognition of a very real contribution made to the Scouts, awarded to adult volunteers.

Tom works hard on Clarity's Technical Services Team, helping Clarity’s clients with their IT systems, whether hosted in Microsoft Azure or Clarity’s locally hosted private cloud.
