Changes to Cyber Essentials requirements

Cyber Essentials
28 March 2022

The Cyber Essentials scheme requirements were updated in April in 2021.  The updates to the Cyber Essentials questions mean that there are now additional questions over previous years.

Cyber Essentials forms a key part of the IASME Governance standard*, which is comparable to ISO27001 and the NIST Framework**.  The main difference is that it is a cost-effective alternative to those frameworks.

Any new applications to the scheme will now need to be completed utilising this question set.  You can find out more about the latest update to the Cyber Essentials Requirements here.

How can Clarity help?

We can help your business by undertaking Cyber Essentials Plus audits, or simply providing consultation based on both the Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus or IASME Governance standards by our IASME certified personnel.

We can help you develop an ISMS and in doing so you will be able to clearly demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the newly released Cyber Security Rules by gaining the IASME Governance Standard.

*    The IASME Governance standard was developed over several years during a UK Government funded project to create a cyber-security standard which would be an affordable and achievable alternative to the international standard, ISO 27001.
